On the Street....Urban Explorer, Florence

I love the simple urban explorer feel of this look, the slate green shirt with the classic but slightly fuller cut khakis is perfection in its stealth.

However, I think the photograph - and the look itself - is made measurably more refined by its juxtaposition with the rugged grooming.

It is such an art to be well-groomed but not manscaped. This is one of the best examples I've seen in a while.

Oh yeah, I agree - not manscaped (got distracted there a bit!) - maybe an organic extension of the ruggedness within. His profile... special.

From the neck down, this look isn't that impressive (plus I have this exact combination of shirt, pants, and shoes).

The point about grooming is well-taken, but really, the key here is how handsome the guy is!

This seems to be another variation on the Hemingway homages that are all over the media with the 50th anniversary of his death. But totally Sart style. Love the rough wood panel. And the look. Regarding the comment that it looks like her husband, isn't it pretty to think so?

Anonymous Phyllida said ... (3:51 AM) :

Woah, I love this guy!!! I think the 'rugged grooming' is achieved by the fact that his hair is swept back, but not too ridgidly or too loosely. Also, his stubble is very casual, but not excessive. Finally, he actually looks clean, which is obviously important!! x

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:28 AM) :

Magnifique profil. Belle coupe de cheveux !

Blogger Barton said ... (9:00 AM) :

very nice outfit

Anonymous sam tK said ... (9:32 AM) :

the trick with being well-groomed but not to beautified is in the attitude, how to carry the look, un-self-concious is the most attractive, then you know he is completely natural and himself.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:16 AM) :

Anonymous Stephanie said ... (5:00 PM) :

He is a very good looking guy, though I wouldn't suggest this rugged yet groomed style to most men, it's a look that's a bit hard to pull of, his stubble is perfect and looks very classic. And I definitely love that belt, that small detail puts everything together nicely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:34 PM) :

I know I'm the only person in the universe that thinks this - but, I can't stand "rugged grooming." Either shave or grow a beard. But, the in-between look makes me crazy. Too many handsome men are ruined by it. Like him. He is gorgeous - except for the whiskers...

P.S. Also love the untied shoelace...
