Wow, if that isn't the whitest, crisp...-est shirt I've ever seen...and the cuffs are so beautifully peeking out from the sleeves of the blazer. I don't know why but that's my favourite thing about this photo. :)

Blogger Bella said ... (1:12 AM) :

I love this elegant look, and think he must be a very interesting man. I do not agree with the comment that if a woman of his age dressed like this she would look wrong, these are classic pieces and can be worn at all ages, male or female. Great pic!

Blogger ChalcedonyofSF said ... (2:00 AM) :

It is amazing how phenomenally BEAUTIFUL a soul looks in the most deceptively simple attire. Truth!

Know Thyself. He is wearing 2 colors, 3 if you count the silver watch - there is nothing intricate about his choice of clothing, just deliberate. Beautiful is wearing a suit jacket (but notice the slant of the handkerchief pocket!), the nearly starched white dress shirt (again, notice the cuffs are not buttoned - Oops! My bad, I mean cuff-linked and they are peeking a tad bit more than expected, from the jacket's cuffs), and fitted, but not worn jeans (not all jeans are created equal). This gentleman never ever has a need to shout... anything; except again, by choice. He's not calculating, just tempered... perhaps, or maybe that is what he wants us to think... :)

In Zen, it is called "detail no-detail", I believe, and I need to be on HIS planet!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:25 AM) :

Just to answer a few comments there: of course what a good spot from the Sartorialist.. but I can guarantee you that MOST men dress up that well in Milano (trust me, I live here!). It is either this or the total shiny D&G look.. so thanks for choosing this one :))

What an attitude!!!

I am impressed. According to your few white hairs looks like he's an aged person. But while looking towards his way of standing as well as style. A very marvelous attitude seems. I think he can also compete with most of the youngsters still in this age.. :)

Thanks

I love your pictures from Italy. In particular those from everyday life. The implicitness of the style competence let me breathless. I am not a big fan of Italy or the italian mentality, but I have to admire theire style.

Quality wins every time. perfectly cut blazer and the darkest of navy makes the difference. well fitting jeans and a white shirt. this gentleman is a breath of fresh air. no gimmicks; a man comfortable in his own skin. thank you Scott!

Blogger jy196 said ... (5:39 PM) :

From this single shot, he practically oozes refinement, chartm, worldliness, and best of all, sex appeal. You just know that he would know just where to eat, drink, shop and chill. Oh man, he would be hard to shop for!

Anonymous Liz said ... (9:51 PM) :

I *knew* this was taken in Italy just based on the FIT - slim, cut close in the sides - perfect.

Scott, you once shot a young guy kicking a soccer ball - he was in jeans and a jacket - a youthful version of this man - and I'll NEVER forget what you wrote about Italian fit, and calling him "Rafael Lorentini" or something like that - which cracked me up. Ralph Lauren all'Italia, indeed!

He is wonderfully handsome and well-dressed, but I think his most attractive aspect is how closely he seems to be listening to the woman--slightly leaning forward, eyes focused, a thoughtful line between his brows.
