these boots are the best..better than uggs. they are made in italy.
mine have gotten me through 4 winters so far. made by a company that goes by the name oscar..and pajar.

was on fifth wearing my black ones, noticed whilst standing at the light, two more pairs of feet, shod in the same boot.it was my satorialist and bill cunningham moment.

Caroline had a meeting this morning uptown and wondered what to wear with all the new snow that came last night to NYC. Her flight to Aspen had been cancelled and she would not be heading west until the weekend, so why not wear the boots she had planned to take skiing? With her camel coat, she thought they looked great...and they reminded her that soon enough, she would be in the lodge with a lovely glass of wine by the fire.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:44 PM) :

fabulous !
so different !
really love it !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

This is a trend I've seen in the Pacific Northwest; really furry leggings under cropped pants or danskin wrap skirts. The fur I've seen is fake (re: the comment above): no animal sacrifice required. The girls I've seen have a decided overall boho look; siwash sweaters, batik layers, scarves, earflap hats, so it's kinda different to see the polished camel jacket paired with the fuzzy wuzzies.

Blogger Kristen said ... (2:00 PM) :

I love the coat! She definitely has the height to pull off a really long coat like that, and it looks so streamlined!

The boots, however... Haha. Well, maybe it's because I'm from this area, and they're pretty common to see. Furry boots, that is. Or perhaps it's because I've become so sick of wearing my own snowboots (mine are not furry) but I just can't appreciate big furry boots right now. Also, furry boots similar to these are often seen on teenybopper young girls wearing miniskirts and baby-tshirts out in Los Angeles.

I'm not judging her or her style, because, hey, it's been a really snowy winter. Plus, big furry snowboots are popular for a reason. But I'm not sure I'd focus on them as fashion inspiration or anything like that for myself. :)

Maybe it's just beacuse I'm used to seeing it. Maybe that's the same reason I love pretty much all things Italian right now. It's different to look at. 8)

Anonymous princess glee said ... (2:27 PM) :

Shazam! Must be cold in the NYC. Those boots look warm and fuzzy and puuuuurfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:28 PM) :

I think the coat is too sophisticated to pair with the boots. If I absolutely had to wear those boots, I would pair with tight jeans and waist length coat. Personally, when I see those boots on the nyc streets I can't help but imagine how nasty that faux fur gets when mixed with coca cola slush.

Oh I love this. A mixture of texture and fun and topped off with the hair in a bun. Love the boots, they are to die for. She is brave for leaving the head uncovered. I would die of cold without a hat. But, the absence of the hat makes her all the more "real".

I have these boots in brown and black and they are warm and waterproof--necessities when you step off a curb into icy slush. I haven't worn mine with a long formal coat but in NYC on a snowy day, necessity is the mother of invention!

Good lord! I wouldn´t be caught dead in those boots - You don´t have to sit in your coat for long for it to get wrinkled like this. The best thing about this picture is her profile and her hair - she has a kind of sophisticated natural look about her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:12 AM) :

Ah-ha! So that's how they stay warm in NYC in the snow!! Fur pants - duh! I wonder how many layers are under the gorgeous coat? The material doesn't look terribly thick.
I'm from sunny California (readers don't hate me), and I think I'd throw all morals out the door and wear head to toe fur in those conditions.
LOL.
Thanks Sart!

Anonymous fernana said ... (1:12 PM) :

eck not so much. I love the jacket ....but matched they look like fur pants over boots instead of just boots with it. Everything mixed together (oversized coat, mammoth looking pant/boots, and hair) looks frumps. Even if it looks better from the front, this doesn't work from the back.

not working. the coat is beautiful. but the shoes are not working! especially with the coat. looks like she rolled out of bed.

Anonymous Lorien Wood said ... (8:46 AM) :

I love the camel coat, and she looks lovely, but I don't find it practical to wear shaggy winter boots. The "fur" gets matted with snow, and you have to brush them out every time before you enter a building! But I suppose that fashion and practicality are very distant cousins...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:32 PM) :

I am sorry but this really not cool, I think its really ugly and out of style. I it very neglige, the bulky coat and the bulky fur do not go together, at least of the coat was short maybe or if the boots were more delicate. There is no femininity whatsover in the outfit.
