On the Street.... So Much to See, Paris

Where to start?
- the "retro" extended shirt collar
- the 3-pc. suit worn without a hint of stuffiness
- the simple brown/grey color story
- the playfulness of purple socks

But the single most important element of this look!

- the masterfully/effortlessly rolled (almost punched) brim of his hat. Really, doesn't that one element of his look tell you everything you need to know about this gentleman?

That face, that boyishly tilted brim, the spring in his walk, priceless. Whatever it is you do, when you photograph strangers, you make them feel really comfortable, and it shows in every shot.

A pleasure as always.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:50 PM) :

Random thought Sart (please respond because I'd love to hear your thoughts)...

I think the fact that the images on your website are copyrighted is disgustingly capitalistic and cruel. You would have none of these beautiful images if it wasn't for these beautiful people who allow you to capture them free of charge. YET, you make money from their images and want to tell people that they can't reproduce these images without your permission?

I think it'd be fair to say "no one can reproduce these images for the purpose of making profit" but I think it's very greedy CEO of you to try and copyright other's creativity. It's unnecessary and adds an ugliness to your page.

Please rethink your artistic principles and ethics.

Having said my Kanye West peace,

I LOVE THIS! It makes me want to take notes on how I should dress 30 years from now :)

Anonymous John M. Doyle said ... (9:03 PM) :

Recently, I had the pleasure of watching Fellini's "8 1/2" after not having seen it for many years, so when I saw this shot I thought, "My God! It's Guido's hat!" Indeed, just as that chapeau was one of the great stylistic elements that Mastroianni employed in the creation of the character of Guido, so does this gentleman know about the major importance of seemingly minor things.
Certainly, you are right about the use of gray and brown to create the wonderful color story we see here-so simple and yet so direct in terms of the appeal to the eye. And, as someone else has remarked above, we know that this is a man with a great sense of personal style since this is a gent who knows the power of a good pair of hose.
