On the Street....Rue St. Honoré, Paris

Don't miss the sliver of the blue denim shirt peeking out by his collar - really, the shades and textures of blue in this look are sublime.

Great! Next time in Paris, I want to meet HIM :)

so sly of peaking buttoned jean-collar, well played.

Blogger junglesiren said ... (12:09 PM) :

Fascinating.... for so many reasons. It feels like he stepped out of the Russell Crowe version of The 3:10 To Yuma, making those motorcycles look anachronistic.

Love love love!!!

Yeah, whatever. If it's cold enough for an overcoat it's not warn enough for flip-flops. Ah-so! Though I concur about the blues.

This "chinese parisian" looks funny.

Carrousel du Louvres, rue Ste Honoré, Jardins du Luxembourg... don't you know some other places ??
1 square kilometer is not Paris.

I love your blog and your book. They both are a source of inspiration for me but lately there hasn't been much street style on your blog and I miss that. Love from Gothenburg, Sweden

Blogger Carlos said ... (2:26 PM) :

Amazing combination of textures.
About the picture, it's like the subject was taken out of context and put in the city, but for some reason it suits him. Maybe because of his mastery to dress?

Anonymous Edgar C said ... (2:56 PM) :

i have often wondered about wearing a wrap like this.

but not in the cooler months

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:16 PM) :

I'm sooooooooooo going to steal most parts of that style!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:18 PM) :

Do you think his coat help him keep his feet warm? I would love being able to wear flip flops in Paris' mid october. It would simplify my everymorning outfit searching. Love his by the way.

I agree that this is not a fall look.
But very natural to this man.
Try again in the spring.

this modern day monk is only missing his bowl (to beg for alms). if that is not the look he was going for, then who knows what the....

Anonymous davidsl said ... (6:19 PM) :

cool blues, but a hideous outfit.

Blogger beths said ... (7:06 PM) :

Maybe I had to be there? This look is just sloppy to me. I can imagine how the parts could work well, but this version leaves me cold, like his toes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:25 PM) :

great face but the look is too thematic

Blogger SinotheDivine said ... (7:39 PM) :

Amazing, absolutely amazing style!! One of the best photos on the blog; the picture taken a while back with the man and his son in kaftans is equally a favorite.

Wow, this guy rocks. He seems a mostly interesting character.

Anonymous Stacy said ... (3:13 AM) :

My favorite part of this blog is when you post a look AND explain why you personally found it interesting.

I never would have looked at this outfit and conceptualized it as three different shades and textures of blue.

Blogger BlogCoder said ... (3:45 AM) :

The fushion between Japanese culture and current trend. The blue of his coat is gorgeous

sublime !

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:26 PM) :

A very handsome man with an amazing and strong face-- such a shame he's wearing an over-sized and long jacket along with a skirt that makes him look like a Hobbit. Eccentric style is not always flattering.

Anonymous Guga said ... (5:08 AM) :

He's freakin sexy.... effortlessly sexy...unique...and theres a teal kinda blue....when ur sexy ur sexy with anything on....i dont think i could pull this off like him..... so ethnic but not that themed...doesnt look like a costume .... im stunned... wow....one of the best so far....

Anonymous Coy said ... (2:55 PM) :

One of the most handsome men I've seen in a very long while.

I happen to like the hues which all work together seamlessly but also like the contriction in "seasonal" attire. Long coat and sandals. Breaking rules looks good on him.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:14 AM) :

EASY wear...?

Blogger ME said ... (7:48 AM) :

I like this photo because I think this is not the image most people have when they think Paris. This exudes a feeling akin to finding a rare trinket in the most unexpected of places.

Blogger Sunny Side-Up said ... (10:29 PM) :

I love it!
