I actually prefer this to the previous shot of vest-over-jacket. The jacket seems more seasonally appropriate, the scarf is excellent, and I don't see his bare ankles above nude-color shoes. The hat seems rather singular, and should probably remain that way.

Blogger Toil and Trouble said ... (10:38 AM) :

a beautifully distressed hat!

Blogger stephanie-sarah said ... (11:02 AM) :

that hat has so much character!

Anonymous louise said ... (11:10 AM) :

I'm normally not a fan of the vest over jacket look, but I went back to this, and on second look, I like it. The worn hat and hand-knit scarf personalize it nicely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:27 AM) :

the hat...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:58 AM) :

this post feels a little mistermort.com to me....

love the scarf.

Blogger DePaul's Club Couture said ... (12:20 PM) :

amazing colours and textures in this. i love it. and his sunglasses are great!

Blogger Miiicha said ... (12:34 PM) :

Really cool picture! Love to have your camera.

Anonymous princess glee said ... (12:55 PM) :

Interesting...I'd tease him about how cute his scarf is, completely ignore his proudly worn hat and then wait and see what happens.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:18 PM) :

fantastic shot of the hat...and how beautifully shabby. clearly well-loved.

Blogger Oni said ... (1:25 PM) :

Here we go again with the layering of the blazer and jacket and the scarf...well at least his ankles are not showing this time.

Blogger Unknown said ... (1:37 PM) :

That scarf is sassy to the max

Anonymous suzanne nelson said ... (1:53 PM) :

It's the moustache. For me, it's the moustache and the little bit of pink in the scarf that brings this whole shot together.
ps - looks like a gorgeous day in nyc !

More like this. I tend to like the real men you shoot not the self aware fashion people. That's not to say this guys isn't aware it's just that he is confident enough to break the rules just enough – that tension is style.

This New York-based Florentine menswear consultant knows how to always play it cool. Hooray Enzo, sei sempre fantastico.

The hip, urban brother of the late, great Wilford Brimley?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:18 PM) :

does anyone know what type of sunglasses he is wearing?

Blogger max said ... (3:46 PM) :

Blogger Stylest said ... (3:55 PM) :

The scarf is stellar...

Blogger indigo warrior said ... (4:40 PM) :

Nice handknit! And the hat!

Blogger ABBY said ... (6:34 PM) :

tricky to pin down a particular style, right? i like it, too.

Anonymous crowsfeet said ... (7:03 PM) :

Now how many people can match the crown of their favorite hat to their chin???

so far, one.

so wonderful

Blogger NKD said ... (8:24 PM) :

love the vest over jacket

Blogger Starck Mad said ... (9:27 PM) :

very striking photo.....another thing I like, is a person depicted who has well over the usual 30 inch waist!

Blogger Daša Lončarević said ... (9:45 PM) :

beautiful hat, it has character

Blogger Paulo Ferba said ... (10:43 PM) :

Muito bom!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:46 PM) :

he's cute and way to go with the strategic fringe

Blogger Jenn said ... (11:15 PM) :

there is something about the pink fringe on the scarf that makes him seem gentle.

Blogger Lady Holiday said ... (12:13 AM) :

Love the tuft of the scarf peeking out from under bottom of the vest.

Blogger cowboydan said ... (7:23 AM) :

Get a look, stick with it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:22 AM) :

His hat has a nice patina about it but is too small for his head. Also, I am not sure about the vest over jacket thing, seems kind of backwards to me. But if he is happy, he makes it work. Bravo.

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (8:38 AM) :

The jacket under vest look makes as much sense to me as the stiletto under jeans.

If you've got them show them off. Otherwise you could be wearing anything.

Blogger s. said ... (9:40 AM) :

I felt like he should be holding a pipe!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:09 AM) :

the hat is perfection!

Blogger A La Mode said ... (11:11 AM) :

Old people are so much more interesting to look at. This man looks amazing! I love his chin.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 AM) :

Now this I like! Everything fits for one thing. What a concept!

Also: I don't think the hat is too small. It's just a narrower brim than one might be used to.

Blogger hc said ... (11:29 AM) :

not a fan of hats, but merging it with the top of chet glasses is perfect. the peeking pink flare just adds more to this genius look.

Blogger Love + Cake said ... (12:55 PM) :

The scarf is just so fabulous.

Blogger Jessie Birnberg said ... (4:58 PM) :

yo dudes ..dudes like (old peeps)I do not wear pink and he has good style for someone who is over the people who are in their 50's

Blogger KateMadd/skmckinn said ... (8:23 PM) :

In...love...with...this...man.

Blogger Joy Mars said ... (9:16 PM) :

Great style! Probably he's European.

Anyway, looks like he's having fun dressing himself.

I would like to imagine he's not a bore to talk to.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:01 AM) :

love that the hat has a hole! americans sometimes have everything too new and perfect (i am an american). imperfection is best.

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (10:51 PM) :

I'm guessing it was too chilly to wear only a jacket?

Blogger Claire said ... (2:14 PM) :

Le France adore !

Blogger C said ... (10:05 PM) :

It's not the clothes, it's the chin dimple!

Anonymous Katarina said ... (7:20 PM) :

this guy is awesome... but isnt he the same one from Florence in January??

Definetly same man, look at the glasses!
...who is this mystery fella?

Blogger Lily Fritsch said ... (11:42 PM) :

I love the peek of pink and green outside this blazer and vest combo.

Exquisite pairing, and the coloring of this outfit is genius
