Socks: Unsung Hero

Blogger - said ... (5:42 PM) :

AHH! omgomg..heart attack. Those neon pinks. Who are those from?

Blogger L'armadio del delitto said ... (5:43 PM) :

wow, amazing shoes!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:43 PM) :

First! :D

Also like the first pair...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:45 PM) :

The bottom photo of the tube socks and high heels reminds me of a high end version of grungy Birkenstocks and white socks - i.e. tacky.
If it is too cold to wear the shoes bare - why not tights?

Maybe they would look better in the context of the entire outfit

but... I do like the expression held in the pose of the woman's legs.

Blogger What Not & I said ... (5:49 PM) :

I love the pink pair! they're so playful, especially with a skirt/dress that length...

Blogger Blondies said ... (5:51 PM) :

I like the high heels of the first photo, those ones of the right. They seem to be animal print. Snake, maybe?

Blonde kisses!

Blogger . . . said ... (6:03 PM) :

AHHHH those pink shoes are the bomb.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:03 PM) :

the pink heels are by Givenchy, they also do a flat jelly version, yumm!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:05 PM) :

YAY! SHOES! I love shoes, especially these.
Socks and heels make an interesting combo, it is a nice alternative to tights. Although the picture above with the tights and shoe combo is equally stellar.

Blogger JULES said ... (6:07 PM) :

the hot pink shoes are INSANE!

Blogger ThePromenader said ... (6:08 PM) :

SOCKS- UNSUNG HERO is right! i have been thinking about socks non-stops ; ) i think they are going to be major and i am figure out a coherent way to write about this
phenom

like who needs thigh high boots when you can wear thigh high socks (tastefully... with shorter boots over)... these are things i ponder

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:03 PM) :

Oooo I wished the pink pretties fit properly.

Layered socks and high heels, now that's different! Thats the best thing I've seen all year.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:20 PM) :

Fabulous. Especially loving the blue pair.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:43 PM) :

I'm a sucker for knee highs.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:43 PM) :

On the blue suede sandals - the buckle aligns with the stripe on her sock. That's genius.

Blogger A La Mode said ... (8:08 PM) :

Those blue shoes are beautiful!

Blogger Anthea said ... (8:15 PM) :

For the fashion weeks..do people walk around to get to the shoes? I wore my high ankle booties and tromped all around Tokyo to go to shows and my feet were broken by the end of the day!! haha great photo and check out mine from Japan Fashion Week if you get a chance!

Blogger Pretty Lovely said ... (8:16 PM) :

Those pink heels. Ahhh, I don't even have words..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:37 PM) :

I am going to dissent about the pink heels. They just tip into the gaudy side. However, I love racing stripe sock paired with a high heel.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:57 PM) :

heels + socks = blame it on miuccia. finally the trend is hitting the street.

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (9:13 PM) :

Most definitely fanatastic on both!

Blogger Nikki said ... (9:19 PM) :

brown and blue! I dont even need to see her top half, i love her.

Blogger wouldn't it be cool if... said ... (9:20 PM) :

Always a fan of socks & sandals...thanks for more ammo and inspiration to expand the look
I knew there was a reason why my sock drawer is surprisingly full. Proportionately, my leg attire takes the same amount of considered thought as the whole look itself.

Blogger Geeky Black Girl said ... (9:39 PM) :

I love the blue shoes but I do not like them paired with the socks.

The neon pink shoes...meh.

Blogger Love + Cake said ... (9:47 PM) :

I adore the blue suede.

Blogger Cheeky Gunnette said ... (9:59 PM) :

you have convinced me - i need hot pink shoes.

Blogger seawallrunner said ... (10:35 PM) :

be. still. my. beating. heart.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:43 PM) :

when looking at a woman for the first time, i always start with the face, then go to the shoes. here, we only get the shoes, sadly. as the hot pink on deep black is quite hot, and the blue suede on brown knee-high socks is completely adorable, i want to see more, more, more.

Blogger Starck Mad said ... (10:55 PM) :

What a cool bunch of shoes! Wow!

Blogger diane said ... (11:38 PM) :

Every time I look at your page, it's such a sweet surprise. Nice shoe shots.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 PM) :

This is why I am a photographer.
It's not even about the shoes or the socks, it's about the feeling that it gives me, the light, the shadows, THE LINES.
Beautiful.

This Time Now

Blogger indigo warrior said ... (11:41 PM) :

I love the shoes. Absolutely fantastic. I would fall and break a hip, but for the young and fearless - woo hoo!

The socks are a sign of something even more insidious than the eighties coming back - the seventies could come back!

Either run and hide or feather your hair. There is no middle ground.

Blogger nikky said ... (11:57 PM) :

i love the power of a shoe.

Blogger A said ... (12:02 AM) :

Hot pink Givenchy cut out booties on the streets of Milan........sigh

a very, come close so I can tell you in your ear so as not to embarrass you - DON'T WEAR THOSE SOCKS WITH THOSE SHOES you're not playing dress up.

Blogger Zubaida Jacob said ... (3:44 AM) :

The neon pinks are gorgeous.. Are they Jimmy Choos though? I think I saw the exact same in their laitest collection but in black.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:34 AM) :

These is for Fashion For Love:
the pink neon shoe boots is from Givenchy...http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/38783 ....

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:03 AM) :

Love the shoes. The pink ones are ill.

Blogger Pearl said ... (8:06 AM) :

Second picture is the best--more style and less simple shock value. But I'm old-school: find it hard to get behind tights/stockings and open-toed shoes. My eye says, terrifically wrong choice. And only of the moment--fashion, not style. It is also a very young choice: makes me think school-girl (especially with knee highs) rather than adult, in overall style.

Blogger sabrina said ... (8:08 AM) :

the pink ones are amazing!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:00 AM) :

I didn't realize I needed a pair of blue suede strappy platform sandals until just now. Thank you for the shoe porn on a dreary Thursday morning.

Blogger Hanna and Daniel said ... (9:01 AM) :

Love the blue and black ones.
/Hanna

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:10 AM) :

I love the hot pink Givenchy pumps. Are the suede pair in the second picture Marni?

Blogger *moggit girls said ... (9:14 AM) :

Wow...now that's what you call a POP of color!

J&J

Blogger cami falcão said ... (9:23 AM) :

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:09 AM) :

How can I ever get any better ?

Blogger hc said ... (11:09 AM) :

Oh my, the recession is obviously out of mind and out of heart. Pure avant garde opulence is the dish du jour! loves it all day long.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:09 PM) :

All show and no go.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:23 PM) :

I like the way the hose in the bottom picture makes the legs more rakish with those blue suede heels. She must be a real dimepiece, considering the action below the knee is awesome.

Blogger J. said ... (4:10 PM) :

-drool- Love the pink ones!

Blogger Joanne said ... (5:29 PM) :

cute shoes! funny that she's doing the "toe lift..." high heels must hurt! :)

Blogger Gillian said ... (7:53 PM) :

i wish i could pull off the whole socks n pumps look. i can barely even pull off the pumps look. its kind of awkward wearing heels in public when you're 5'10 flatfooted

Blogger Scoop said ... (1:34 AM) :

Gorgeous navy shoes. Not loving the socks though...

Blogger The Clever Pup said ... (8:31 AM) :

Re: the bottom picture. Why would someone spend their life designing beautiful shoes to have someone dumb them down with knee socks?

I think if you have the money or the sense to buy good shoes you should also have the sense not to dress like a rebellious teenager.

Blogger angie said ... (11:45 AM) :

deeeelightful! i want those shoes too! *a

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:02 PM) :

I will never stop wearing socks with sandals now! Never!

Blogger Bookworm said ... (9:51 PM) :

Love the pink sandals with the black tights--they just pop!

Anonymous MissPiq said ... (3:49 AM) :

i don't know what the girls up there are talking about, but the shoes are having a wonderfully interesting fascinating conversation.
conclusion: stylish shoes do make you look "spirituelle"
