Love the socks and the bag!

Blogger Patrick said ... (11:33 AM) :

He is wearing extremely classic clothing and riding a very modern bike. I like it a lot.

Blogger TMFA said ... (11:48 AM) :

The man is dressed well and riding the eco-friendliest solution. :D

Blogger pulp+witticism said ... (12:01 PM) :

The charm is in the details. The robin's egg socks peeking out and look how they magically match the bicycle. Are you born with it or is it taught?

Blogger Thomas said ... (12:15 PM) :

love the socks!

Blogger mgi said ... (12:15 PM) :

speaking of socks.. great picture!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:28 PM) :

Socks coordinated too! Handsome

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:32 PM) :

What a nice cycling outfit, and it really compliments the man. Also I love the socks... it seems as if socks are the newest trend eh? :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:34 PM) :

I love the peep of socks that are the same color as that beautiful bike.

Blogger this too will pass said ... (12:34 PM) :

great blog and photos

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:37 PM) :

I love how the socks match the bike.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:38 PM) :

I'm loving how the socks match the bike! Awesome bag, too.

Still, what really draws me into the picture - and I'm guessing caught your eye, Sart - is his whole demeanor. Leaning casually backwards (onto a bicycle, no less), naturally folded arms, unfussy collar, and of course the perfectly placed cap atop that expression.

Blogger Sinatra's Shadow said ... (12:38 PM) :

A much better pair of socks to highlight than the previous photo!

Blogger Yvette said ... (12:48 PM) :

Always so much more stylish where the laws don't enforce helmet use.

Blogger BPB said ... (12:58 PM) :

...those socks. amazing.

Blogger Ivy Lane said ... (1:02 PM) :

Yep, That's definitely cycle style all right! LOVE IT!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 PM) :

I love the socks!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:31 PM) :

what a man. love it.

Blogger John B Pritchett said ... (1:32 PM) :

Socks and bike matching! Wonderful! Love the bag too!

Blogger Zoe said ... (1:35 PM) :

Socks and bike to match, excellent. I hope he doesn't ride with the bag so precariously balanced. He's going for a more smart than tech look, I find the balance hard, good clothes aren't usually fast clothes. And he probably knows it's not going to rain!

Blogger gabrielazeanadal@hotmail.com said ... (1:40 PM) :

Simpatico!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 PM) :

now this is really excellent ...... not only has this chap matched his sock colour with his bicycle the pattern matches the x shape of the frame ....... even his beard seems to have a silver- blue tinge but i'm possibly getting slightly carried away .......

Blogger Fred said ... (2:04 PM) :

Hi Scott here is Fred from Red Wing was nice to meet you at the fair and speak to you personally. Good Eye and good shots from the fair. I am in Barcelona joining the next fair ...

Best regards Fred

Blogger Tina Frey Designs said ... (2:14 PM) :

Nice picture! I wonder if he knows his socks match nicely with his bike?!

Blogger Allen - East Hampton said ... (2:25 PM) :

Dapper Dan, indeed!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:30 PM) :

i like his style, especially the hat and the socks.
just the bike doesn´t fit in or matches his style.
i´d like to see him on a bike like this http://www.utopia-fahrrad.de/PDF/London.pdf or an real old one.

Blogger Diogo Torres said ... (2:32 PM) :

You have to visit Lisbon and take some photos here

Blogger secondvurss said ... (2:38 PM) :

not sure where the clothing style is in this shot. he's an interesting specimen, that goes without saying. i have a feeling that any other guy with the same specs would have gone unnoticed. sock details are nice but i don't think that this is what makes the picture interesting or different.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:51 PM) :

baller.

Blogger Larissa said ... (2:57 PM) :

I love it when Italian's dress in a classic "English" style, they always pull it off so well!

x

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:05 PM) :

Ok, now I´ll have to start matching my whole outfit, including socks, with my bike. I´m glad my bike is black and classical. His shoes are just lovely.

Blogger AliceSeagull said ... (3:30 PM) :

he looks good on that bicycle!

Blogger Rita said ... (3:30 PM) :

The focus on this picture is unbelievable!

Blogger Alex said ... (3:38 PM) :

This is ITALY-Style!!!!!!!

I love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:57 PM) :

Just grrrrrrreat! Socks and bike in similar color ;-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:05 PM) :

Smart dresser, but how smart is he really? Rides a brand new bike around the city - that jank is going to get stolen.

Blogger Kay said ... (4:09 PM) :

More sock action.
I love the collar of his coat, just perfect

Blogger anonwomen said ... (4:27 PM) :

the socks are perfect! I love the way the colour matches the bike and the check has illustions to the spokes of the wheel.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:29 PM) :

Confidence in command of the street. Reminds me of Sean Connery. But would Connery wear those socks? With those shoes?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:42 PM) :

How is he wearing white pants and no strap to keep the pants on his right leg from flopping around? This should result in major chain grease on his white chinos.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (4:50 PM) :

I was in Florence last week too and am blown away at how well everyone dressed. It was my first time there but I went unprepared. :-(

Next time, I'll bring a trunk full of chic clothes.

Love your Florence coverage.

Looking forward to your book.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:18 PM) :

The man dresses nicely. Your pictures are very inspiring. Being a young sartorialiste (is that how you say the female version?) your blog is very helpful. I have recently bought a new camera and can't wait to take pictures

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:27 PM) :

WoW! Stylish & elegant all the way around...

Blogger diane said ... (5:50 PM) :

OMG, the socks match the bike!
Anybody else think this guy looks a little like Sean Connery, who is still the sexiest man alive in my book?

Blogger Bedlam said ... (6:03 PM) :

I like his look, Ol' Englash

Blogger Sara said ... (6:54 PM) :

Love the socks!

Blogger Cris Piera said ... (7:17 PM) :

surprising bag :-)

and I love his socks... so unexpected!

he must have a good sense of humour.

regards from Barcelona!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:34 PM) :

The socks!!! see how can you not love someone who pays attention to detail!!

Blogger The Concrete Commentator said ... (8:27 PM) :

Love the Bag!

Blogger Arya said ... (8:31 PM) :

this man has tons of personality from his face down to the socks. Great picture!

Blogger Jack Daniel said ... (8:35 PM) :

Great pose!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:09 PM) :

Wow - matching your socks to your bicycle? i think that has to be a man thing... I love the way his cap is so perfectly positioned.
Sart - sensing your interest in footwear - when you are in Rome visit Gammarelli and the other ecclesiastical outfitters in the Piazza della Minerva, not far from the Pantheon and treat yourself to some of those Bishop's violet or Cardinal's red silk socks!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:17 PM) :

like the shoes. looks like they could kick some #$@%

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:09 PM) :

The man knows how to dress....I like it.

Blogger swilek said ... (10:28 PM) :

Love his socks and the fact that they match his bike!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:12 AM) :

SPEAKING ABOUT SOCKS... these do make an outfit, not the others. love it that they match the bike! sartorialist to the point of considering his bike an accesory.

Blogger Joy said ... (3:55 AM) :

I love how his socks match the color of the bike and how his facial hair matches his hat and how his bag matches nothing at all. His gaze matches mine--silver fox? :p

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:07 AM) :

Awesome pics!

Blogger Dominica said ... (6:39 AM) :

The bike sure makes him trendier than any car would !!
What a great pose !!
Love his cap !

Blogger JP said ... (7:11 AM) :

He looks terrific

you can tell he dresses appropriately for whatever he does with great style

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:59 AM) :

Is it the socks? Is it the bag? Or is it the man? Love it any which way.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:10 AM) :

great hat !! really casual style.

Max

Blogger Dan in Richmond said ... (9:39 AM) :

Ditto the socks/collar/cap and his overall demeanor.I like the fact that he's wearing stone colored pants on a bike- not really such a problem unless your pants are wide, it's a windy day or you're in a race. It shows a confident disregard for obsessive practicality, which seems right for him..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

I love everything is this picture... But I love more the building behind the man! Wonderful City =)

Fran Rosa

Blogger Tiger Fodder said ... (12:52 PM) :

The whole look is very distinguished. I also love the pants and the fact he is riding a bike without a chain guard. I love the shoes, very classic. The socks make the whole outfit.

Blogger Honeygo Beasley said ... (12:55 PM) :

What's cool? The gray in his beard ... the chinos ... the collar up ... the cap ... the arms folded ... the bag ... the bike ... the angle of his feet ... his shiny shoes ... his socks that match the bike. The gray and blue and white and brown. Keen!
: )

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:58 PM) :

i cant get over the fact that the socks ACTUALLY match the BIKE! hahahaha LOVE IT.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:53 PM) :

Yes! A man not afraid to look like a man. Love it.

Blogger Irene said ... (7:30 AM) :

I have this to say: Where do you find them? Where are they hiding? Why am I not there?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:47 AM) :

LOVE IT. and the golden trio: Socks, bike and bag is increaduble.

Blogger ricola said ... (9:57 AM) :

Yes, the socks. But the beard. The expression under a fantastic tweed cap.

Blogger amyw said ... (10:43 AM) :

I love the unabashed confidence. And the socks :)

Blogger denada said ... (11:55 PM) :

Fantastique! I love cycle-chic!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:28 AM) :

love it!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:53 PM) :

Can someone please tell me the model and make of the bicycle in the photograph ?

Philippe Laurichesse

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:55 PM) :

What's not to love? If I were riding my bicycle and saw him I just might pretend to have lost my lock and invite him for espresso if we could just lock our bikes together long enough to run into a shop.

Blogger Miriam Parkman said ... (4:03 AM) :

It's amazing that he's matching his socks with his bike!

Stylish man.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:27 AM) :

Like the socks, however I would prefer to see him om one of those old school Grandpa bicycles, you see a lot in Amsterdam.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:21 PM) :

Looks like Thomas Friedman... is this him?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:34 PM) :

Assurance is a fine attribute! Now,
does he share when moved? One can only hope!
