Blue and grey is such a great combination, so simple but still very effective. I think the rather slim pants compensate for the grandfather like jacket. He should change the belt though.
The shape of the jacket is a little old fashioned...but the eighties are back... With him it works really good, because he's slim. Want to touch this smooth leather.

I love love love the belt and how it peeks out. As for the jacket itself, not so much (particularly the nip at the waist).
Gorgeous jacket. I like that the bottom buttons are left open, otherwise these bomber jackets look too 80's and don't flatter the body.

i disagree with the person below who said it should be tighter. it should be tighter if it was made for a woman.
You are right, That jacket has a really nice shape, and goes to show that something does not have to be completely form fitting to be complimentary. I love the shirt too, and the aviators, but I think the ribbon belt really kills this look. Maybe a brown leather belt, or none at all -- do you think this even needs a belt? well, maybe it does, but it should be something simple. The purple ribbon belt makes this look like a novelty or something. I feel like ribbon belts should only be worn on Nantucket or Martha's Vineyard.
The jacket is beautiful, you can almost feel the soft leather (or is it suede?). And the bit of belt is a perfect match.

I left Milan almost 2 months ago after living there for a year and a half..I miss it even more after seeing these beautiful pictures. Italians really know how to dress, they aren't afraid of colour, especially the men. Bravo for this guy! Mi piace la sua giacca. Che bello!
Perfect. I have very similar in leather, in very faint green, only with a zipper.
I think i'll start unzipping the bottom. These jackets have a weird overlapping effect with the waist line. Guess its the bomber style...

Is that suede? Count me in! I cannot get enough of that purple and grey combination. I love how he's got the other purple accents too, like the belt and stripes on the shirt.

The purple he used is almost like the purple on Ralph Lauren's Purple Label "labels". Most people regard suede as a fragile leather with bad cuts from the 60s and 70s, but in recent years it has gotten better, softer- at least suede of good quality. Great look overall! Jorge from W Palm Beach
I'll cast my vote with what the czar says above. The shape of the jacket doesn't work for me. The combination of the shape and the color look a bit too feminine for my taste.
But, the belt is great.
Well yes, this is perfect. Again, if one is slim they can wear anything and he is taking advantage of it by wearing a jacket with extra bulk at the pockets and letting the belt buckle peek from between the open buttons. Wonderful color and assemblage of ingredients. He looks great.

It's a purple A-1 flight jacket. The original jacket from 1927 until superceeded by the A-2 (the classic ww2 "bomber") in the early 30's. Original A-1's were made in capeskin. This is quite a startling interpretation of it.

The color of the pants is ideal to tone the jacket's down, but I'm having problems with the matched purple belt.
The jacket would probably cool with those purple suede Tods driving shoes that you photographed (photo-graped)a few month ago. Great, rich color.

For those of you asking about finding his belt, I'd recommend J Press, they have some similar styles. If that doesn't fit your fancy, wait until the spring lines when J Crew and Polo will certainly have something similar in stock.
J. Crew has a near identical purple/white stripe o ring belt in their stores right now. Looks great with my grey flannel slacks and brown suede lace ups.
It's the best shade of purple.

I absolutely love this. I love the way it pinches in at the waist, the sleeves, i love the collar, the buttons, the pockets, the SHAPE, OH THE SHAPE, and the choices he's made for the rest of the look are excellent. Well done.

Really? I don't know about this one. He looks a little stunned to be caught on camera wearing this out. I think the cut of this jacket is all wrong (save the sleeves and collar). Why on earth would you want to wear a purple jacket that automatically gave you love-handles? Don't get me wrong, i love purple and this is a great shade of it, but paired with this slapdash design, feh. Feh i say.
...and the belt, and the fit of the trousers and the shirt under the jacket, and his normal nonchalance, and his accessories. I would gladly wear it all. Tutto. Alluring really.
