totally agree. Great size, great form, great feel...and that's just his arse!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:56 AM) :

great shot. love the grey and the browns and the black car coming. great bag.

Blogger ricola said ... (9:00 AM) :

Un peu d'envie, oui. That is a super sweet bag along with the Tab backed trousers are quite nice as well.

Blogger Izzy said ... (9:12 AM) :

Is that a really beat-up Prada bag? The handles remind me of one that I've seen in the boutique.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 AM) :

Nice bag ... I am indeed envious. What brand is it? I love that well-worn look (of the bag, naturally!!!)

Blogger Jorge from W Palm Beach said ... (9:23 AM) :

I believe you have shot this man or at least the bag once before, in Italy I believe. It is one of those Prada bags, right? For the rest of the outfit, the dress slacks goes very well with a basic heathe grey T; very high-low. This is my year to purchase a good carry-on, hopefully I will be able to get something of this quality. Agree with post above regarding how the subject pops against the Truck DeVille. Blogger Bifurkation said ... (10:01 AM) :

I love the patina; you can see that it's been used a long time.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:05 AM) :

post it up, lols. love the used leather on the bag. pants look like nice quality too with that little back detail. and, could that escalade be in a better spot??

Blogger PhilM said ... (10:07 AM) :

Sart, why did you post this photo on your blog?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:13 AM) :

Beautiful mix of colour - from the flesh tones to the black car and yes, cool bag, nice pants too.
I like these unposed shots you get, Sart, they have depth and some intrigue.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:45 AM) :

Where can I get a bag like that?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:53 AM) :

love the bag, masculine, well distressed, mix of the grey, complements the sleek black and silver of the car, love the focus, love love love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:10 AM) :

even before looking at the title i was like, "wow that's a great bag..." i like the contrast between the beat-up, old bag and the shiny, new cadillac. nice shot, mr. sartorialist.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (11:22 AM) :

LOVE the beat-up bag and his t-shirt and dress pants combo. (Hope the Escalade isn't his)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:28 AM) :

Let me guess: You asked him where he got the bag, but you're not going to share, until you've acquired yours, right?

C'mon! Play fair.

The trouser tab is wicked.

Blogger Keisha Kornbread said ... (11:55 AM) :

I love the pants, bag and his hair...yum!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:25 PM) :

Yes its PRADA. I met him a year ago carrying the same piece...I coveted it then, as i do now !!!

Gotta love the THOM BROWNE trousers too.

Blogger Paul Pincus said ... (12:39 PM) :

LOVE the trousers!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:47 PM) :

Nice looking bag.

Hold the envy and use your energy to find one by an Italian company that produces in the 100's, not 1000's.

There still there, and you won't regret the search.

Blogger Maggie May said ... (1:26 PM) :

so clean and easy.

Blogger Hannah Stephenson said ... (2:28 PM) :

Oh-so-nonchalant!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:00 PM) :

Is that tab functional? I've owned pants with side tabs, where the waistband of the pants can slide. But, if you tried to use the tab on the back of this fellow's pants, wouldn't the pants just fold over onto themselves?
Is the tab just decorative?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:26 PM) :

i'm loving the bag!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:50 PM) :

isnt that david bradshaw from arena homme plus?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:23 PM) :

Forget the bag, where can I get him??

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:40 PM) :

me too extremely envious!!

Blogger John Danner said ... (4:54 PM) :

No kidding, I need a nice leather bag I can beat up, get attached to and use every day... until one day it is useless from wear and I would have to depart with it with a sad lob into the trash.

Then I get another, even better one, and wear that leather in/ :)

Blogger Joe Nasty said ... (4:56 PM) :

For some interesting bags, check our Bowndesigns.com

They have a beautiful holdall that looks like it might age well! I am holding out for the Bally Jahn and Joven models!

Peace out!

Blogger Agyesh said ... (6:30 PM) :

ohh... envy alright... i want that bag...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:39 PM) :

ever thought about doing film scott?

Blogger Vampire In The City said ... (10:03 PM) :

I wa-wa-want that bag! The patina of the leather is beautiful.

Blogger Michael Joseph Owens said ... (11:40 PM) :

Lovely backside! Oh, and the pants are nice, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:50 AM) :

me gusta la confianza en si mismo que destila. su naturalidad. la arriesgada mezcla entre sobriedad y deportividad. el gris como colo basico de cualquier combinacion acertada.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:59 AM) :

Great patina on the bag. I love the tab-backed slacks (say that fast five times, LOL!). Those slab Caddy trucks do provide a nice back drop for certain shots, unlike any othe car!! Bravo!

Blogger gospodina cu opinii said ... (8:55 AM) :

total bag envy.

Blogger Miguel said ... (9:46 AM) :

It is a very nice bag indeed. I love the weariness of it and the colour... Perfect.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:06 AM) :

I have this bag in red. It is indeed from Prada. Tho, mine is not as weathered, this photo is haviong me think how lovely it would be disheveled.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 AM) :

in the composition, the bag, of course, plays to connect this man to the "other" of the corporate world. because of his austere pants and shirt, the bag's texture and distressing speaks to the processes of work. it reminds me of baseball, ranching, and of connecting with one's values.

i think that part of the shot is interesting.

the Cadillac is an unfortunate backdrop. that emblem is only a depressing reminder of branding and accumulation. it does not uplift the photo. if anything, it feels satirized by the man's turned back.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:59 AM) :

YES GREAT PANTS BUT I SAW ONE FROM A YOUNG FRENCH BRAND U-NI-TY JUST AMAZING IN L'UOMO + IN BLEEKER STREET
AS WELL AS HAND MADE JACKET UNBELIVABLE

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:24 PM) :

Yeap indeed, this is david bradshaw.... used to work with him at calvin.... he is the stylist for calvin klein mens collection, super cool guy!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:21 PM) :

Awesome bag indeed. It's good to know that (almost) any leather bag can achieve that weathered look by simply using it from day-to-day. I imagine the process is somewhat accelerated in NYC though. :-)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:10 AM) :

my friend has one exactly like it! hers is a prada.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:47 AM) :

I want this bag!

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:57 AM) :

The bag is just adorable. I would love one for myself.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:13 PM) :

More like back envy--he's lookin' fine from behind ;)

The position he's in is so great. I like this photo. There's been a lot of interesting composition in the photography this month!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:18 PM) :

I love this shot (including the vehicle). The man is so naturally gorgeous, masculine and unpretentious. He is classic and undated. The vehicle means nothing to him. It (and its vanity plates) are trying hard to be classy - but he has achieved it without trying. Lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:53 PM) :

How would you describe the material of those trousers?

And what shoes do you think he's wearing?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:41 PM) :

i love a bag with character.
ugh. so jealous.

really great photo composition, too. i like his posture, the way he has the bag slung so nonchalantly, and his movement.

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:02 PM) :

TOTAL bag envy!! and i'm a 5' girl!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:40 AM) :

not sure if this picture is meant to capture the bag or the pants or the car.. or if it's just a gift for the ladies :D either way, gr8 picture!!! <3

Blogger sandythecandy said ... (12:07 PM) :

love the bag! its so damn beautiful it hurts my eyes.
it makes the whole style, or rather .. it makes A style.

Blogger Jor said ... (4:51 PM) :

One could open a store selling nothing but those AMAZING bags and they would sell out every day. Sigh. They sure don't make 'em like they used to.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:48 PM) :

why am I the only one who thinks his pants don't fit his back end? He needs to find a taylor or hit the gym! And the black and chrome pile of metal looks so american...

Blogger Mark Lewyn said ... (3:20 PM) :
