Blue watch, yes. I would pair with lighter shoes in both cases.
I approve of the look in the top photo without completely liking it, which is not really a contradiction. I called for the return of the boutonniere a few weeks back- this one is practically a corsage! Double-breasted and double-buckled? It all works on him-another case of style seeming to match personality and being worn with elan. Dig the lollipop, too.
The bottom photo is really fresh and summery. I'd never attempt a white suit for practical reasons alone, but he looks great.
I like the 1st photo. I think it would be cooler if the flower stem on the lapel was tucked behind the lapel through the lapel whole. Or the stem shortened. Otherwise I would say that he is "going green"
I asked it of the man moc, I will ask it again. How do you keep your shoes from getting gross without wearing socks? Just wear them for five minutes for the photo?
Where do we stand on the short, double-breasted jacket? I was always told that a jacket had to reach down to just below your knuckles. And I associate short white jackets with European waiters. But he does look cool. Do those old rules still apply?
To me, these two pictures turn the adage that "the clothes make the man" on its head. Both show clear style, and yet the man on the bottom (with all due respect) lacks a sense of personal confidence that detracts from his sartorial acumen. The gentleman on the top has a certain air that makes his look. I think it more apt and accurate to say that the (wo)man and the clothes make each other.
Love the hints of blue, they stand out wonderfully on the pale suits. The blue watch of the first gent is wonderful!

White suits are dangerous territory but this gentleman pulls his off really well. I like his pocket square very much; the shirt and fat tie knot detract from all the white and he has chosen his shoes to match tonally. He looks very smart but not overdone.
Its amazing how good these gentlemen make white/cream/light coloured suits look! A far cry from the 'white suits' a groom is sqeezed into for a corny 'white' themed wedding/

The top picture is bespoke perfection! The entire thing is flawless, down to that flower he's holing up in his hand. And those shoes; man!

I love the white and blue combo! This is such a cool and effortless look for the summer! I love it!
The bottom photo expresses a nice combination of white and blue. I like the tie and the hanky on the jacket pocket. The background is beautifull.
On the top pic the shoes are a definite plus and the color of the suit with the cheked shirt match perfectly... Although I have to agree that the stern of the flower in the lapel should be hiden.

thanks god that they never got white shoes! Good way to break total look with the two blues, cool. Myself i'd use either lighter shoes and probably a hat...what about Panama?

Love the watchband in the top look...his color and style choices work together very well, with a hint of whimsy (even the sucker tops it off). I lije the more formal air of the bottom look, the white looks crisper framing blue accessories; I would have opted for some sort of lighter shoe, white suede bucks (but that might be too casual for the great symmetry of the suit). I think his tan is awesome too. Fantastic pictures, Mr. Sartorialist.
Fastasticus! I love both of them, but the bottom photo is my absolute fave. So clean and simple! I do wish we could see a peak of cuff under the jacket arms. They may be just slightly too long.
Shoes in the Ist picture are "William " by John Lobb also called a double monk.
Really nice summer looks on both... with a "but"... I know that the reigning aesthetic on this site or among designers at the moment is for quite slim pants, but in the upper picture, there's so much volume going on up top for the guy (his build, the hair, and esp. the DB jacket) that I really think the pants also need more volume to balance things out. ... In general it's difficult to pull off the slim pants if one's build isn't slight (-- mind you it's not as if this guy is out of shape or anything).
Love the palette though, I've worn almost the exact same in summer (SB tan suit, light blue check shirt with navy tie).
Blue and cream -- very crisp, clean, and refreshing. Pure white would be too much, but cream mutes it just right.
The first fellow pulls off the brown shoes much better than the second. I don't know what it is though. Perhaps the shape of the shoes, or maybe an unflattering hem. Or...Hmm..
I bet the mother of the lower gentleman is awfully proud
for her son. He is so immaculate, including the suede shoes with no socks. (There are excellent deo sprays for feet and shoes, I bet he has several.)

Both great outfits; what is interesting is the contrast of characters. The guy on the top is like a lion, whereas the guy on the bottom is much more subdued in his demeanor (gimme that pocket square!). In both cases, I love the blue shirts (my favorite), and blue ties, which add richness and contrast to what would otherwise be a "Good Humor Man" look.
Stem's the best thing. Cool.
