On the Street....White Bow, Florence

I love how sophisticated this is and yet it is also perfect the the weather here in Florence.

Often, being comfortable and chic is a difficult balance.

the shoes and the eyeglass frames are in such good balance with one another. her haircut also really makes this sing as effortlessly yet challengingly as it does.

Tell me about it! Weather and the commute always ruin plans for a perfect outfit!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:05 PM) :

without socks? somehow the all-white is too-stiff, you think?

what's in the background?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:20 PM) :

Its a great look and truly individual. I think she dressed like this every day. What i love most is her watch, ring and glasses and how they balance the shoes and white outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:35 PM) :

is that her jacket under her magazine? would love to see that also. very cool...

Blogger ricola said ... (9:49 PM) :

The camellia ring rocks. I wish I had the coordination and luck it takes to wear a white outfit out of doors. She looks so relaxed. Cheers her.

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:52 PM) :

I would have to agree with you that being comfortable and chic can be a difficult balance...This is a great, clean and minimalist look!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:25 PM) :

is that a man or a woman? doesn't matter. a sublime summertime ensemble.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:59 PM) :

Yes! I love Florence -- just got back from there. I found that white and navy, together, or separate -- so crisp, clean, and pulled together -- is favored among Italian men and women right now. Simple, yet chic.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:23 AM) :

Perfect elegance ! I love it.

Blogger USelaine said ... (1:53 AM) :

I agree with 3rd anon - the coat(?) and bag look like splendid finishes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:07 AM) :

I love the shoes, I've been looking for those for years. Hom mean that she's got them and not me.

Blogger Caroline said ... (3:19 AM) :

glad to hear the weather is good! its usually about 100degrees when I'm there. urgh

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 AM) :

Cool, fresh, summery. Fantastic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:59 AM) :

Sart,

I love those shoes. I need those shoes. I have searched for shoes like these almost all of my adult life.

I would probably do black and brown though...

Help me.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:35 AM) :

I love this outfit... also without socks

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:23 AM) :

Havent left a comment for a while - i love this - its the jewellery i particularly love l - she looks really stylish in an effortless way - the watch is perfect and that is a hard one - wonder if all her outfits match her watch or she has lots of watches?! Claire

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:25 AM) :

Love the whole look, fabolous!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:02 AM) :

Absolutely beautiful: such a beautiful outfit, how unpretentiously and unconsciously (see the look on her face) chic she is. I just spotted the gold bag and that just raises it even further. Love this very much.

Good to see a mature woman for a change and-yes, she is quite chic. Doesn´t look planned or anything, though she must have chosen her outfit and accessories with care. To achieve this:` I just grabbed something on´look and succeed in it, is not that easy. Most of us under or over do it.

Blogger Candace said ... (8:56 AM) :

Bravo to the shoes!

Blogger The Spicers said ... (9:00 AM) :

Love the loose bow and the shoes and glasses. What a chic combination!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:08 AM) :

A great way to wear black and white. I like that the black is just hinted here and there. Doesn't detract from that elegant white. She looks fabulous.

Blogger António Erre said ... (9:24 AM) :

First impression: androginy. Confortable. Chic. Clever note given by the bold white bow. So nice.

Blogger okso said ... (9:37 AM) :

comfortable, chic... and would flatter any age. classic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 AM) :

i think she pulls off this look incredibly it's so chic and clean cut the white blouse is so great i just love it! i got this great blouse at shopgoldyn.com that looks like this and i can't wait to try and pull this off!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:10 AM) :

great composition, and the subject looks like a great character! loves it!

Blogger jessica said ... (11:26 AM) :

yes, i think the hair is the "crowning" element of this look. but i love the whole thing- the black of both the shoes and frame...
italians, sigh...
what is she sitting on????

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:47 AM) :

Love this shot, it's very Chanel meets the Great Gatsby!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:52 AM) :

can anyone identify the watch she is wearing? that was the 1st thing i noticed followed by the shoes.

<3

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:30 PM) :

Very chic. Very elegant She looks expensive. Love how the watch, the ring, and the eye glasses tie in with those fantastic shoes.

Blogger tintin said ... (1:47 PM) :

She is beautiful in that way only European women seem able to pull off with nary a thought. Slap dash and out the door. I do love her hair. Although, she could be from Duluth.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 PM) :

Is that a jumper or separates? Either way i love her look. The strong accessories balance it out and prevent a case of the garment wearing the subject.

Blogger Milt-fresh_best-dressed said ... (4:32 PM) :

The look deserves an A because it's so ground breaking. A woman in wingtips is unheard of!!! My only gripe is the shoes with no socks. It looks right on her, but my uncle soured me on the look with his chicken legs. All in all a great look

Blogger Unknown said ... (5:32 PM) :

Stylish, elegant, quiet. A perfect spring/summer view.

Blogger Scott W said ... (6:35 PM) :

Chic quirk! She does it great!

Blogger aviewaskew said ... (9:21 PM) :

simply superlative...class with stunning jewelery accents..wowow

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:18 PM) :

Effortless and chic. Perfect combination.

Blogger Laurenn said ... (12:46 AM) :

So incredibly chic. I absolutely love her glasses. Her outfit is inspiring. I have to wear all white fairly often and this is giving me more ideas so I can wear something other than just a white dress.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:45 AM) :

The watch is a Breitling Navitimer

Blogger Lorentzo said ... (10:41 AM) :

LOVE*

Blogger Karina Cifuentes said ... (5:23 PM) :

She's simplistically sophisticated. It's like she woke up and said "I feel like white today", and just like that, pulled off an effortless yet "chic" outfit.

What glory! White summer story in layers (is that a waistcoat?) but equipped for a change of temperature with a navy coat lined in strong Prussian blue and a superb scarf, harmonising with the gold bag, which is under-stated and avoids bling. Consider how the accessories, so beautiful with the white, will also harmonise with the second story. What an ensemble! This is truly elegant and inventive.

Blogger Miguel said ... (9:50 PM) :

Classi... Definitely classi. Those glasses... voila!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 PM) :

Hmm i think Jessica said it first, but what is she sitting on?
being the avid cyclist those disembodied bikes above her head were the first thing i saw, then the outfit, sorry… any idea what it is?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 PM) :

It never fails. Effortless style and a relaxed attitude. I love the fact she is slightly older and so confident in her skin. Please , more of these shots. So inspirational.

Blogger Terren said ... (12:44 AM) :

i love how italians dress. it's more than just what they choose to wear, but how they wear it, and that's why i love this photo.

you feel the essence of her style.

have you thought about visiting siena? i lived there for 4 months and i HIGHLY recommend it! hands down, my favorite duomo in all of italy.

hope you have a pleasant trip!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:07 AM) :

all i can say is, i hope this is me in 20 years.

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:13 AM) :

this is fantastic. More Italian women please!!!!!!

Blogger Kanani said ... (10:49 AM) :

Ah, white! I love looks like this, alas, I'd no doubt spill coffee all over it were I to wear this.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:29 PM) :

Elegant. The blouse is a beauty, in particular, because it looks non-chalantly tied together. The shoes and glasses give the whole look the final contrastring touch.

Blogger Jennifer said ... (2:19 PM) :

the white blouse cools up the heat of the summer, and the black accents make her look sharp

beautiful

Blogger olen said ... (1:26 AM) :

Now that's a classy, thinking woman's wardrobe!

Blogger Carlotta said ... (11:59 AM) :

i have met this woman--she's russian, lives in moscow, and wears a lot of comme des garcons. and her look is always impeccable, serious, but contemporary.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:06 AM) :

THIS IS STYLE! I LOVE YOU...

Blogger Miss Cavendish said ... (4:59 PM) :

Perfect!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:56 PM) :

I had to catch my breath when I saw this...perfection.
