beautiful. makes me proud to be a swede.

Blogger Angelica said ... (11:12 AM) :

I love that jacket!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:13 AM) :

any idea where to find a similar coat?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:31 AM) :

What a beautiful young woman. I'm inclined to think that anything she'd put on would look fantastic on her, not just this fun outerwear ensemble.

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (11:51 AM) :

She looks great! Love her scarf!

Blogger Nor said ... (12:26 PM) :

So simple, so clever. Lovely tones here and I love the volume. Great boots, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:28 PM) :

quality control.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:47 PM) :

she looks like everyone in stockholm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:53 PM) :

How lovely this photo is - it makes me wish I was back in Stockholm. I love how this girl isn't afraid to do volume - too many women are scared that volume will make them look fat - and I love the fact that her serene beauty, makes a fairly ordinary outfit extraordinary.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:03 PM) :

A girl this beautiful can wear whatever she wants and still look amazing. Case in point: this photo.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:38 PM) :

look at her the pretty thing. i'd say she pulls off an enormous coat and scarf rather well. i particularly like the cinched waist and her pretty skin.

how many feet long do you think the scarf is?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:44 PM) :

Wow she looks like I pictured swedes and norwegians. Are all scandinavians like this?

Blogger shabnom said ... (2:25 PM) :

Wow, collected, beautiful and warm enough to withstand freezing temperatures all at the same time. And Stockholmers always seem to have such simple clothes; they just work very, very well... where do these people get it from?!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:54 PM) :

Her face looks like a Rubens heroine. Lovely.

Blogger Paul Pincus said ... (2:56 PM) :

What an incredible face! I know, I know...a beautiful swede!...how unusual!...but she really does look like an angel.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:27 PM) :

I don´t really like it, the boots are horrible!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:39 PM) :

note the similarity between this scarf and the scarf in the previous post... worn different ways

Blogger The Bluebird Pies Blog said ... (3:43 PM) :

If it weren't for her legs sticking out this could overwhelm her, but I think it strikes a nice balance.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:58 PM) :

I don't think that this is particularly flattering as a look. Besides the fact that you can't see a skirt under the coat, the top is just to wide. Not my thing.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:43 PM) :

What a beautiful head, and somehow she pulls off that extremely puffy coat. I think it's the shorter length that makes it work.

However, I see pigeon-toe-itis has spread to Sweden, too.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:49 PM) :

This is perfect!!!!
Love the cocoon!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:54 PM) :

my best friend. she's fucking awesome!

Blogger Clau said ... (4:56 PM) :

Nice view from Katarinahissen.

It's great to recognize places!!!

Greetings from a Spanish living in Stockholm... Since 2006.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:17 PM) :

Ummm... The shoes are cool, but I don't see what is special about the rest.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:25 PM) :

I don't get it. I don't object, but I don't see what's intersting. Girl in black and a puffy coat. None of the pieces are remarkable, and it's a boring look I see all over the place.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:26 PM) :

I have those exact shoes. Very warm and comfortable on the cold pavement of Stockholm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:46 PM) :

A very "swedish" look this season. Seems to be all about the boots, slim jeans/tights and big parkas, on both men and women.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:06 PM) :

Do we like the shoes?

Blogger Alicia said ... (6:59 PM) :

I love the scarf, but the rosy cheeks make the picture. :)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:13 PM) :

Yeah, that's at the Slussen Lift! I've been there - but she wasn't there! :(

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:16 PM) :

So beautiful, yet practical. Totally of the moment without being precious.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:42 PM) :

I need to find a scarf like that!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:59 PM) :

She looks even more angelic contrasted with her practical, wintery garb. Feminine, trend-conscious, comfortable - another great shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:22 PM) :

the puffy jacket and over-wrapped scarf combo makes her look larger then she truly is. i'm not a fan.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:41 PM) :

I love her silhouette, not many girls could pull it off, but it's the scarf that really pulls it together and her rosy cheeks that keep the femininity. Not crazy about the shoes, but she makes them work.

Blogger benson said ... (10:42 PM) :

here I was going to be bitchy and say how she needs longer legs to carry this look off...but when I saw the close up I was enchanted with her face...truly angelic. Back to reality--how does she tie that scarf so haphazardly cool??!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:21 PM) :

i love how the lightness of her skin, hair and eyes contrast with the dark grey and black pallette of our outfit; she's sweet, but with a dark edge. the contrast is very on-target with fashion right now.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:39 PM) :

and makes me proud to have substantial legs!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:10 AM) :

so gorgeous and classy. go blanka!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:54 AM) :

Those are really ugly booties, but there's somethink very likable about this woman. And I love that she's swallowed in that scarf.

Energie

Blogger Cheltenhamdailyphoto said ... (4:17 AM) :

Sweet. Dress would have to be very short to be under that. If there was one lol.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:47 AM) :

maybe not the most flattering outfit on her body, but an interesting one at least. and she is breathtaking. very fresh- a real beauty.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:05 AM) :

This is one of those shots where I wish I knew what *you* are seeing, what you love about this look.

Not that I don't think there are many elements to love - the piled scarf, the puffy as mini, her lovely face - but there are also a few elements to not love at all - the way the high-tops+mini make her legs look shorter/chubbier even though they are not either, her indifferent hair, the fit of the coat through the hips.

A sentence or two to direct discussion?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:12 AM) :

OMG, she is beautiful. Her face looks so gently and softly.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:24 AM) :

I love the volume of her scarf and the big puffy jacket....

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:43 AM) :

hey I think that's the henrik vibskov coat i saw on the tresbien-shop.com - it's lovely and looks great on her.

Blogger Chloe said ... (9:27 AM) :

now THAT'S a winter coat!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:19 AM) :

I don't think there is a balance--its her legs sticking out as another poster put it that ruings any sense of proportion.

And another poster mentioned volume without looking heavy--sorry, but here we have volume = looking heavy. Extremely top heavy, unfortuantely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:04 PM) :

Clearly a beautiful girl, but for me boring and unflattering.

Although seriously this girl is very slim - why would anybody say she has "substantial" legs?! We live in a crazy world where 80% of the american population are obese but this girl supposedly has big legs.

x

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:28 PM) :

so in love with this photo!
i wish i could tie my scarves as well as she can

jessica, i think her hair is the perfect compliment to this wardrobe. it's up streamlined. having it down would just look messy and detract from the scarf. there's already enough drama around her face

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 PM) :

A question to people commenting above (and maybe to Mr. Sart, too): is this about pretty girls or about "pretty" (or cool, or whatever) style?

Blogger a/c said ... (4:36 PM) :

Further confirmation that my little sister knows what she's doing when she puts herself together to leave the house. I'm jealous of the cute booties and love the way that, rather than anchoring her look, they set it off with warmth and dimension.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:19 PM) :

Love the scarf but without the angelic face there is only a common look. Doesn't take a certain touch to pull this one together.

Blogger Annelis said ... (5:29 AM) :

Very Swedish style - black/grey and comfy, but you never know what's hidden under the huge coat - they might surprise;)

Blogger Unknown said ... (8:27 AM) :

I have to say I, too, don't see the point in this picture. If it wasn't for her lovely face she would look like a million other people on the streets of the entire universe.... puffy jacket, black, scarf.... In fact I think she doesn't even make the most of it. I find that the volume on the top should be balance on the bottom somehow; those shoes don't work. She needs to add a bit of an edge/personality to the whole outfit.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:05 PM) :

Here in Stockholm people have got an obsession lately about wearing scarves that would fit a 400 pound lady.

Blogger Unknown said ... (2:28 PM) :

I also agree that her sweet, clean, fresh face makes the outfit! at first glane, it seems unexciting- but her rosy cheeks really make the whole outfit POP as something special! her tiny boots are especially cute- and the twist of the scarf is so playful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:53 PM) :

adore the boots!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:23 AM) :

I love the scarf -- the volume is great and the color really suits her. Blondes look so great in grey.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:42 AM) :

I love her coat, and I swear I tried it on at Helsinki10 this fall (and now I have a reminder so I feel regret...)

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:46 AM) :

I don´t get it, but maybe that´s because I´m a swede. very average look, and blonde/cute, duh, not very interesting? :) still like the boots. and the volume but it´s not unusual. do not like the depressing colours.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:28 PM) :

seriously, everyone looks like that in stockholm. very pretty but ages from genuine. and i dont get it with the leggings, its minus degrees! put on some clothes! good god.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:00 PM) :

does anyone know where to get boots like these? love them!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:11 AM) :

If I go to Sweden and get a coat and scarf like that, will I look like that. I am starting to pack.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:57 PM) :

Why not tall boots to form some congruence with the volume (for warmth I would presume) on the top? The legs, while lovely, are jarring in this instance in contrast to the heaviness of the parka and weighty scarf. The subject is lovely and appears quite comfortable.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:06 AM) :

The coat is lovely, but I don't like the length of the boots and the colour of the scarf. Her outfit is too depressing and dull for her young fresh look. Could've added some colour with either the scarf or with patterned leggings.

Blogger kalindoscopy said ... (12:05 PM) :

I see armour again. Segmented right arm, row of buttons and carapace bottom. Invisible hands, serene face above subtly scrolled scarf. Fence/Gate as emphasis, the idea of protection from something hostile.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:38 PM) :

isn´t that a carin wester coat?

Blogger Rachel Michaela aka Stylebites said ... (7:58 PM) :

That's not on the street. That's on the deck at the top of Gondolan, just above the restaurant. Hope you got a meal while you were there! Cheers love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:55 PM) :

Absolutely Wonderful!
