The girl looks great, although her style is bland and unoriginal. A good shot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:52 AM) :

Love the high-heel oxfords! She wears it well because she is beautiful, but I prefer looser high-waisted styles.

The photo a great juxtaposition -- a polished model-type next to the graffiti...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:56 AM) :

Nike is the hottest chick in town!

Blogger Unknown said ... (10:53 AM) :

She's gorgeous, so she'd have to work hard to have an item look terrible on her.

That being said, high-waisted jeans are NOT for even the majority of women. Style should work with one's build, and high-waisted jeans simply serve to make the woman's butt look huge. From the front, sure, they can add a flair of style, but from behind it just becomes a crime.

High-waisted jeans inevitably look like "Mom jeans" from behind

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:59 AM) :

umm...Charlotte Gainsbourg in the September issue of Elle magazine...sort of makes it an unoriginal look. But I do like her shoes.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:09 AM) :

She's attractive in spite of the jeans she's wearing. To me, it looks like her jeans are eating her torso.

I think high-waisted styles are best when they're fitted like loose trousers rather than like a pair of tights. The latter gives an unattractive bunching effect around the middle, even on the skinniest woman.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 AM) :

simple yet "wow!"-worthy!

Blogger MARIA H said ... (11:27 AM) :

she needs more curves to make the high waist look sexy...it just looks big on her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:29 AM) :

A vision! Flawless!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:57 AM) :

Hi-waisted has been touted as a way to camouflage a touch of girth. This pair, however, reveals all due to the stitching.

It's like she's wearing faux-Daisy Dukes! Would have been nice to see the back on this.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:07 PM) :

Now she really worked this look to pieces. What a beautiful silhouette, and I have yet to see the high waisted jean done so well. I dont care for the top, but it works for her. Unlike you trillina, I LOVE the skinny high waist, loose high waist on anyone gives such a granny-esque look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:44 PM) :

Wow! Of course to make jeans like that work really well you need an elastic waistband, and ... no back pockets!

Blogger allisonbend said ... (12:54 PM) :

love the attitude & the glasses w/ that hair is fabulous!

Blogger Jane Flanagan said ... (1:09 PM) :

Jean shapes will come and go. And the best rule is to consider your own body first, then look for fashionable jeans to fit it. She's done exactly that, it just so happens she has a figure that can carry this style. For me, the Oxford heels here are the great "anyone can do" takeaway...

Blogger T38 said ... (1:12 PM) :

Trendy (trousers and shoes), clean (no adds) and nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 PM) :

She looks very young and like a model --that is, very slender and perfectly fashionably dressed.
There is, however, little here that I, as an average person, can learn from for myself.

Blogger Duy said ... (1:44 PM) :

pretty kick-ass shoes

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:14 PM) :

oh, the swedish label cheap monday of course... she looks nice in those jeans, but not fabolous. i like her hair though

Blogger DJ FunkyGrrL said ... (3:05 PM) :

A waqif model look :8)
With a touch of la cool

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:31 PM) :

I'm in love with those jeans!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:30 PM) :

High-waisted jeans *do* make one's waist look tiny (as opposed to low waisted styles that can give the slenderest girl a bit of a tragic muffin top). And for those of us with tiny bottoms and skinny skinny thighs, they don't necessarily look like "mom jeans" -- even from behind.

It all depends on the figure. Some gals, like me, tend to have thicker middles and skinny legs, and the low waisted styles will NEVER look good on us, while the high waisted styles can give us the illusion of a trim midsection.

Which leads me to wonder, Why doesn't the Sart show pics of women whose clothing choices are *kind* to their figures? An anorexic teen (like the girl pictured here) looks good in anything. It would be more interesting to see a few pics of people with imperfect bodies whose smart, careful clothing choices make the most of what they've got.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:45 PM) :

A slim young girl of style will always be able to carry an on trend look, even if it flatters the very few. In some instances unflattering becomes that much more intriguing, because a woman of some style will always shoot for flattering!
However, if one looks more closely at the design, it is apparent that these jeans were meant to be belted (slim metallic or black patent? would have been nice) and then folded over. With a true high waist jean,in the same silhouette, it would have been perfectly done.
Old age and treachery prompt me to point out she will regret the snags which result from leaning that sheer top against that brick wall!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:51 PM) :

Not many could pull this off, but she does it beautifully!

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (6:04 PM) :

Even on a gorgeous body like that, the high waisted jeans look awkward and unflattering. So can you imagine that on mere mortals?!?!

I love the style/attitude though. She's saying, "I know I look GOOD!"

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:01 PM) :

Next year - Denim Cat suits. You heard it here first.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:38 PM) :

I'm not feeling this look. It seems unfinished. Despite the unusual jeans style, the look isn't very exciting and I'm afraid to say, this woman looks as though she was found at the mall, not the streets of Stockholm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:25 PM) :

anon 5:30 -- "anorexic teen"?? that is such a foul judgment, and so unkind.

she looks absolutely lovely.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:50 PM) :

She's got really gorgeous hair that looks so easy on her. And I love her sunnies!

Blogger Unknown said ... (9:54 PM) :

My first impression was "wow", but then I realised that was all about the girl from the waist up and ankles down. The more I looked at those jeans the more flaws I found - they are bunched and creased in so many places and look very unsleek and downright unsexy (and, this is uncool: uncomfortable.)

That's one of the things about all the men you shoot. They all look so easy and as though they are having a good time wearing their clothes.

Blogger Landis said ... (10:04 PM) :

you know how you kind of see a trend take off. and then you think to yourself: "really? that? on you? on ANYONE?".

that's where i am with this.

Blogger Unknown said ... (11:01 PM) :

I keep telling all my girlfriends to start rocking jeans like this! Super hot. I need to go meet my wife over there

Blogger Carol Diehl said ... (11:19 PM) :

Bitch and moan! Really!
What's to complain about here? Probably no one could wear those jeans but her--nor would want to--but so what? She looks fabulous, pulling off the impossible. I love it when I see people looking so casual and elegant at the same time. Something to strive for.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:29 PM) :

anon @ 5:30,
You said:

"An anorexic teen (like the girl pictured here) looks good in anything."

For shame. You have no idea who this young woman is. Furthermore, you've added another level of insanity by equating beauty ("good") with eating disorders.

Kudos, (it took a prayer to not call you out of your name by including an insulting noun here).

Sart, I thought you said you were omitting posts that mentioned people's weight in such a negative manner.

I love your blog!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:23 AM) :

i cant make up my mind about high waisted jeans! She looks great but i cant help but wonder what they look like from the back - but then again I am possibly the last person on earth to have gotten used to skinny jeans and I now own a few pairs so you never know...

Blogger lala said ... (4:04 AM) :

love the pants love the attitude, i dont blame you for enjoying taking pictures of stockholm !!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:42 AM) :

" a woman of some style will always shoot for flattering!'

Riiiight.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 AM) :

m'inspira i m'encanta!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:31 AM) :

hideous jeans. high-waisted look go on no one. super low-rise may have gone too far, but in general a low rise with a slight flare to the pant leg makes everyone look better

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:01 AM) :

Tis kooks nice from the front-but how does it look from the side and the back?BTW the girl looks real nice too,but she could give a small smile.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:59 AM) :

ooh she look really cool, the whole outfit feels secure and trendy. She has got that babydoll face - so adorable!

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:58 AM) :

Wow - she is seriously cool. Love it.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (11:15 AM) :

She's ideally suited to high-waisted jeans, and looks fantastic in them, but most women should be advised not to try this at home! Love the shoes as well.

Blogger umasnotas said ... (12:10 PM) :

The hair is fabulous!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:33 PM) :

Am I the only one here who thinks high waisted jeans will become mainstream? (Like skinnies, remember how everyone was bashing them when they first appeared?) I own a pair of high waisted jeans but have yet been brave enough to wear it. She looks terrific!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:05 PM) :

hi everybody i'm 15 years old I live in Paris .This look is amazing i really like the " Taille - haute slim " ( french ) i think it's really beautiful . But the only thing it's only for really really skin ( maigre) girls ! But it's very nice . Bye Bye

Blogger Greentea said ... (4:03 PM) :

what a great outfit
the jeans fit amazingly and flatter her very well, the top is refined and interesting, and the oxfords! Too cute

And i love this girl's attitude shown in the picture

Blogger Unknown said ... (4:46 PM) :

gorgeous girl pulling off this look beautifully...she looks like she could easily be the coolest girl in the room.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:57 PM) :

She would get away with murder.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:24 PM) :

No. Not extreme-high-waisted jeans No. No.

In a light wool or linen or anything else, I'd probably like it.

In jeans I get flashback to some really awful jeans in 1973 or so. Guys in bowl cuts.

But, love the shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:45 PM) :

If you can work it- like she can - go for it. She's totally got it going on, the shoes make it for her.ij

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:09 PM) :

It is a great look, but I wish it was a more womanly body in it, still slim and slender, but a bit more.. developed. I can't help feeling that this is a bit to much like playing dress-up.

Blogger E. Frank said ... (12:37 AM) :

She is breathtaking. Where can you find jeans like this? I want to buy a pair for my girlfriend immediately.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:14 AM) :

mom jeans... i dont care how many celebs wear em, they all end up lookin like moms.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:00 AM) :

omg. americans criticizing swedes about style.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:20 AM) :

In scandinavia & London (probably elsewhere in UK aswell) high-waisted jeans have allmost become mainstream..
I don't like these pair that much - but simpler styles like "Acne Tube" is very flattering for the female body - so to those of you who thinks it looks "mumsy" ... sorry!! Maybe you confuse "mumsy" with female shape!?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:53 AM) :

Am I the only one who reacts more to the fact that SHE looks as amazing as her outfit? She looks supercute.

Blogger Laurita:Editha said ... (10:57 AM) :

i ADORE her hair. it is amazing!
the nail polish' colour: great contrast.
but the rest.. ouch!

Blogger Beck said ... (12:05 PM) :

wpabso fuckin lutely amazing!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:05 PM) :

Like someone said, most could not get away with this style but if you have a body like this and happen to be this cute-you can. Ha! Don't you hate her?

Blogger shuttergirl said ... (5:59 PM) :

This image brings me to inquire about Cheap Monday jeans. This company is appropriately based in Stockholm, but I'm trying to find out where I can buy their jeans in Toronto, Canada. Anyone?

Also, thanks for all the comments. I was convinced about the hi-waist jeans, but will remember to check my rear in the mirror before I make a purchase.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

Like someone mentioned, high waisted is pretty much mainstream in london & the more style conscious euro countries ... i must admit, i do find it hysterical that americans are criticising europeans on clothes ... the irony!

p.s - the anon that called the girl anorexic ... you should be ashamed of yourself - thats vile & disgusting.

Blogger The Idea Of Progress said ... (9:59 PM) :

...and no. It's not impossible for high waisted jeans to work, but those just reminded me of Steve Urkle.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:24 AM) :

SHE LOOKS AMAZING.

end of story.

Blogger Karina Cifuentes said ... (4:28 PM) :

Oh, how lovely is the life of a girl with long legs!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:14 AM) :

What a beautiful Hollywood hairdo!
I must say though that her outfit isn´t very creative. When it comes to fashion, there is too many unwritten rules in Stockholm. People adapt to trends quickly, which doesn´t necessarily have to be a bad thing, but it gets sooo boring (high waisted jeans etc.)
Having that said, that is also what I appreciate with our capital.
I guess it´s kind of a love and hate relationship.

ps. Scott Schuman, you must have an awesome job! Keep it up!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:33 AM) :

and btw, high waist looks sooooo great on curvier women.

my body sort of looks like hers´, with small curves and long legs and i´d kill for some more curvaciousness. peace.

Blogger boho*céline said ... (9:53 AM) :
