This is the first time I've seen leggings that I didn't hate, and what a lovely dress.

Blogger Michelle said ... (5:09 PM) :

love the bold print & the rich colors are very flattering!

p.s. sart, you are my favorite site :)

Blogger Susan B said ... (5:33 PM) :

Are those pumpkins on her dress? Love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:36 PM) :

She makes the leggings craze seem not so tacky. And what a great color for the print.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:55 PM) :

Theres nothing better to compliment her dress, than her smile. Very Casual.

Blogger The Spicers said ... (6:04 PM) :

Great print! Marni, maybe?

Blogger Jeanette said ... (6:28 PM) :

this is so cute, so appropriate for her age, love it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:49 PM) :

i do like this outfit, but i find the colours to be a bit on the autumn side of the spectrum.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:52 PM) :

I rarely like the leggingings under dress/miniskirt look but she looks wonderful. Something about the black in the print itself, maybe that makes this work?

Blogger whyioughtta said ... (6:55 PM) :

Love that!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:05 PM) :

That is Becky Sunshine from WGSN...nice to see a familiar face on The Sartorialist...hope all is good with you, Becky. Love the dress!

Blogger The Spartan said ... (7:20 PM) :

I love the dress, bag, and shoes. I hate leggings. Hate them.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:44 PM) :

I usually hate this look--but she succeeds in looking comfortable but not frumpy. Great pattern.

I love when I see someone wearing something that I usually hate, but it works on them.

Blogger Asi Mod said ... (8:49 PM) :

I love this look. It's classic urban chic at its best.

But I'm surprised to see this in Milan. This is more NYC. Nonetheless, it's fabulous.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:19 PM) :

this whole outfit is gorgeous... not to mention the photo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:33 PM) :

I haven't seen many women wear leggings in a truely sophisticated manner, but this woman shows it can be done very well. She looks beautiful.

Blogger Gudl said ... (10:00 PM) :

What a fresh look! She looks so nice like "here comes the sun"...

Blogger Jennifer said ... (10:18 PM) :

so clean, so sharp, but not dry or restrained. wonderful.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:17 PM) :

You've captured her surrounded by some wonderful greenery, giving both context and compliment to her lovely print dress. But out of this environment she'd be a little too matchy-match, I think.

What if her bag were pink? Wow.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:24 PM) :

love the dress, but i don't like the tights/flats with it! takes away from the dress and turns the look into something common rather than unique.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:22 AM) :

I like the dress. It's nice to see someone wear slightly unusual colors for a change

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:29 AM) :

What an interesting dress! The pattern looks like it could be anything from bunches of bananas to basketballs

Blogger Miss Shades said ... (2:12 AM) :

such a sweet dress. so simple and classy, but also a bit daring. i love it!

Blogger DeepBlueSea said ... (3:11 AM) :

Why is this outfit so charming?
Is it the modesty?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:14 AM) :

Great bag!
Does someone recognize it?

Blogger Eastern Aisle Credit Solutions, Inc. said ... (3:34 AM) :

I've always gone for this look, because I have a number of leggings in my closet, but it is really hard to find a good top for them.. and I just love the top/dress on this one..

Blogger Cut of cloth said ... (6:00 AM) :

Great update on a 1950's to 2001 Look
Fresh Young and Simple

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:48 AM) :

It might be Marni, but it might also be Zara or Mango, which is great.

Blogger Alice Olive said ... (9:01 AM) :

Fabulous dress and the leggings are perfectly balanced by the large pattern. Fantastic!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:54 PM) :

qqThat's a Betty Jackson dress...how gorgeous does she look!!!

Blogger Carolina Lange said ... (2:26 PM) :

The dress looks so great with the leggins, the shoes and the bag! Love the print colors! Cute smile! Love it!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:09 PM) :

PUMPKINS!!!!!!!! J'ADORE J'ADORE J'ADORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:22 PM) :

Dear women of the world,
Opaque Black Tights look great with winter clothing; they add weight and warmth. But it's almost May, the cherry trees are blooming, and the sun is shining ever more. So bury those Opaque Black Tights in the back of your closet, shave those legs, and get thee to a Marc Jacobs store, where the perfect summer dress in shades of lilac, pale green, and polka-dotted coral most certainly await.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:55 AM) :

It is the adorable Becky Sunshine doing her thing at the Milan furniture Fair! You go girl!! C xx

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:57 AM) :

Wat a great outfit! The colours make it look so much richer!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:51 PM) :

This looks like something Hilary Duff or Jessica Alba would wear. It's cute, but I'm not crazy about it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:12 PM) :

If her shoes were red- it would be a perfect look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:19 AM) :

Everything is perfect!

Per. fect.

What a sweetie!

gosh, I heart Italy.

and the leggings? wow! I like them & usually I hate them. I thinks it's the ballet flats that make it.
