I love it! He looks great!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:53 AM) :

Great picture, i believe he's got a great sense of style at his age. The tie really makes the look complete

Blogger stylethread said ... (9:14 AM) :

I don't know... I'm expecting him to belt out, "read all about it!" at anytime. Don't get me wrong, I dig vintage, but it seems as though he is coming across as costumey vs. hip. It just looks like he's trying too hard as it's too thorough of a nod to antiquity. I think it's the hat and the shorts (remind me of knickers.) Although, if he lost the hat and strongly contrasting shoes, and added sneakers, I think he would have a great look going.

It's gotta be RRL!

Blogger ML said ... (9:51 AM) :

I think the costume-y aspect is what makes this outfit so nice.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:03 AM) :

I adore the old man cardi. Don't quite fancy the shoes...

But he pulls it off. Good job.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:38 AM) :

lovely!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:44 AM) :

i know its probably too vernacular a look, but he really needs some socks, knee high ones, argyle maybe. one, to add a little visual punch and two, to cover his glaringly milky pink calf muscles. its a very retro fun outfit, though

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:10 AM) :

It's like a cross between a newsie and an English schoolboy. I do love the cardi/tie/shorts combo. Although it also conjures up an idea of what Angus Young might wear on a casual day. A few chords of Back in Black after he finishes the paper route?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:08 PM) :

my first reaction was "costume". He looks too contrived.

the sweater is marc by marc jacobs.

I don't know about New York (or America as a whole), but you probably didn't grow up wearing school uniforms exactly like this, as a lot of people will have done in the UK.

I think it looks good here though.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:50 PM) :

You didnt happen to get his number btw?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:03 PM) :

What's the matter with a costumey look? I like it! I think he looks great.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:27 PM) :

Aww, what a cutie.
Makes me want to watch Christian Bale in Newsies!!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:38 PM) :

Wow!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:44 PM) :

I enjoy the look from the waist up but with a pair of brown oxfords and some wool pants, it would be magnificent! Shorts and... ugly mandals?! No thank you.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:27 PM) :

I find that outfit so attractive, but maybe it's just the cardigan.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:09 PM) :

Agree with stylethread re. choice of footwear

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:51 PM) :

I'd have to disagree. It's an awkward length for the shorts, which should be longer or shorter, preferably shorter. The same with the cut of the cardigan (which looks very marc) and the amount of shirt showing underneath, underneath, which combined with the length of his sockless calf, gives him a stumpy midsection. open up the cardigan, loosen the tie, roll up the shorts, wear some canvas shoes.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:52 PM) :

I'm fallin in love!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:11 PM) :

what a freaking cutie! i am so loving this look.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:40 AM) :

The look is great. It would seem less costumey if he had diffrent shoes on, thought it would probally take away slightly from his retroness.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:47 AM) :

It would be better if he was wearing low converse sneakers, all ratty and beat up. The shoes make it a bit too formal.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:56 AM) :

A Bowery Boy or from Tom Brown's School Days....or 'Extra, Extra!!!'

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:41 PM) :

I was thinking Bowery paper boy as well, perhaps meeting Ralph Lauren along the way...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:36 AM) :

this looks great, but the shorts and sockless oxfords simply don't work. as someone already said, wool pants (specifically with a straight-leg cut) would look great with this.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:31 PM) :

this is one of my best friends...he is fierce...leave him alone...this guy urinates style!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:59 AM) :

Agree with you guys on the shoes and the trousers.
This dire shoe and short combination (methinks is more the issue than the too-constumey/nice-homage debate)is very jarring. He should either get the trousers as some of you say or if sticking with flashing those pink legs then swap the shoes for casual shoes. The comment suggesting ratty lo converse is so utterly on the mark, I'm awed.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:18 AM) :

this is adorable, but those shoes with no socks? hmmmm.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (3:06 PM) :

i love him!!!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (11:00 AM) :

He looks like an English pupil . Very cute. : p

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:20 AM) :

The grown up school boy.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:57 AM) :

My boyfriend says this is just like his high school uniform.
