On The Street........39th St. Flea Market, NYC

It is all about the little details - suspenders, leg-warmers worn low, and old school sneakers.

OMG.
I love her outfit, needless to say I wear the same clothes. ;]

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:35 PM) :

She's a GRUP!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:31 PM) :

What IS a grup?

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (8:35 PM) :

Hahaha "grup"
Seriously, after reading that article it's all I see.

Very cute, I would though have chosen to wear jeans that are slightly higher in the waist...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:51 AM) :

Her style is pretty cool!
Greating from Milan.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (2:52 AM) :

I agree! Check out the New York Metro... grups are the new grownups of today.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (6:35 AM) :

there's way too much going on.. i think she should have either stuck with the leg warmers OR suspenders.. not both..

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (7:52 AM) :

Example: Terri Hatcher is a Grup
Tom Ford is not!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (12:08 PM) :

Nice - not sure about the mac though. Is she a model? she's got the kind of look they go for at Elite...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (1:25 PM) :

I haven't gone near white sneakers since I was 10. But I'm starting to really dig them. They look good on her.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (4:35 PM) :

Based on the article in New York, I think the way you tell a "grup" is ask yourself if you could see a teenager wearing it.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:31 PM) :

Also about Grups is the fact that teenagers can look more sophisticated these days, but more than that- their mothers and fathers are NEVER going to not want to look young ever again and there really is no reason that they shouldn't.
The clock is going backwards, especially with botox, tummy tucks, etc. etc...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (9:40 AM) :

Those are Jack Purcell converse sneakers.

The Internet Gold Rush of the 90's wiped out most dress codes and structure....for better and worse.

why did everyone decide that she's old???? she could be 20 something behind those glasses for all we know ...

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:58 PM) :

for such an eccentric set of outfit accessories, it seems very normal and noting sticks out. Bravo!

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (5:03 PM) :

Suspenders make a perfect casual look - like them a lot.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:49 AM) :

She looks incredibly relaxed, love her style, very sophisticated. hello, from Argentina.

Anonymous Anonymous said ... (10:40 AM) :

Going through old archives, perfect look, could pull it of today.

I too wondered why people decided she was old enough to be a grup. I would put her in her early twenties. I too haven't worn white sneakers since high school (over twenty years ago) but I think they look good. I almost didn't notice the leg warmers. I think they work with the suspenders because both are dark and don't stand out too much.

These suspenders add a relaxed, casual touch to the outfit. I really like her layered tops, really adds to the outfit. I love how The Sartorialist makes even sounding-plain outfits super intriguing...
